Chairman of CCAAIS Francesco Banchini Visits Astana for the International Conference “NIS IB Astana: 15 Years of Inspiring Minds and Transforming Education”

On October 4, 2025, the International Conference “NIS IB Astana: 15 Years of Inspiring Minds and Transforming Education” was held at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Astana. The event brought together distinguished leaders, educators, and IB professionals from across the region to celebrate 15 years of academic excellence and innovation in education.

The conference officially began with welcoming remarks by Ms. Akhmadiyeva Kuralay Tleuberdikyzy, Principal of NIS Astana, and Mr. Zhangozin Anuar Kanatovich, Chairman of the Board of AEO “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools”.

During the Plenary Session, notable speakers included:

Keith Allen, Staff Training Officer of the IBSCA and Academic Manager of training courses at Oxford, Heleen Tims, an international educator with expertise in curriculum development, and Francesco Banchini, Director & CEO of the European Azerbaijan School and Chairman of the Caucasus and Central Asia Association of International Schools (CCAAIS).

In his presentation, Mr. Banchini highlighted the association’s ongoing initiatives across the region, reflecting on its achievements in fostering collaboration and professional growth among IB World Schools. He also outlined future plans aimed at strengthening international partnerships and enhancing the quality of IB education in the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Mr. Banchini’s visit to Astana for this landmark event underscored the commitment of the Caucasus and Central Asia Association of IB World Schools (CCAAIS) to advancing educational cooperation and leadership across the region.
