








2nd Experiential Learning Conference
Baku, Azerbaijan – 2022
The conference took place from 9-11 December 2022 at European Azerbaijan School in Baku, Azerbaijan. It was organised by European Azerbaijan School in collaboration with the Caucasus & Central Asia Association of IB World Schools (CCAAIBWS). The theme was centred on “Experiential Learning”, exploring innovative methodologies and practices in education.
What Happened
The European Azerbaijan School hosted the 2nd International Experiential Learning Conference from 9–11 December 2022 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Organized in collaboration with the Caucasus & Central Asia Association of IB World Schools (CCAAIBWS), the conference focused on sharing innovative approaches to experiential learning and fostering collaboration among educators worldwide. The event gathered around 700 participants from countries including Azerbaijan, Turkey, Italy, the USA, the Netherlands, Japan, Austria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. More than 60 international and local experts contributed to the program through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and practical workshops. The conference aimed to exchange experiences and innovative teaching practices while creating professional networking opportunities for teachers and school leaders. Participants engaged in plenary sessions, collaborative group work, and roundtable discussions exploring real-world, inquiry-based learning methods. One of the conference’s most significant outcomes was the official establishment of the Caucasus & Central Asia Association of IB World Schools (CCAAIBWS), founded by the European Azerbaijan School, Tbilisi European School, and Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. This landmark event strengthened regional and international cooperation among IB schools, promoted professional growth, and reaffirmed the European Azerbaijan School’s role as a hub for educational innovation in the Caucasus region. Themed "Engage. Explore. Excel." this significant event serves as a vital platform for the exchange of rich experiences among local and international education experts, focusing on the development of knowledge exchange, skills development, and networking opportunities. During the three days, participants engaged in over 60 workshop sessions, explored experiential learning insights, and excelled in collaboration throughout the conference with people of 19 different nationalities.
