
CCAAIBWS Celebrates Five Years of Growth & Collaboration in the IB Community
The Caucasus & Central Asia Association of IB World Schools (CCAAIBWS) marked its 5th anniversary with a large-scale gathering hosted at the European Azerbaijan School (EAS). The event united leaders from major educational institutions, representatives of IB World Schools, teachers, and students across the region.
The celebration opened with a cultural performance by EAS students, followed by a keynote address from CCAAIBWS Chairman and EAS CEO, Francesco Banchini. He highlighted the Association’s five years of impactful development — international and regional IB workshops, professional training initiatives for educators, and platforms that strengthened conferences, networking, and knowledge exchange across the region.
Aygun Mikayilova, Director of School Complex No.132–134 and Country Representative of CCAAIBWS in Azerbaijan, spoke about the strong collaborative culture the Association has built among IB schools nationwide.
Rana Hasanova, DP Coordinator and Head of Dunya IB School, presented on the future of IB in the region, outlining priorities including enhanced inter-school partnerships and capacity-building for teachers.
