Enhancing Teaching & Learning through IB Best Practices

On May 3rd, CCAAIBWS organized a special IB Workshop Day for Aqtau International School under the theme: “Enhancing Teaching & Learning through IB Best Practices.” The event aimed to support teachers in strengthening their IB teaching approaches, fostering inquiry-based learning, and promoting collaboration with experienced IB facilitators.

Five PD sessions were delivered throughout the day:

  • 08:30 – 10:00 | PYP – Implementing IB Principles in the Classroom
    Facilitated by Ms. Kamilla Orujova (in Russian)
  • 10:00 – 11:30 | MYP – Conducting Inquiry Lessons
    Facilitated by Ms. Lynda Thompson (in English)
  • 12:30 – 14:00 | PYP/MYP – Engaging in the IB Curriculum Process
    Facilitated by Ms. Oxana Akimova (in Russian)
  • 14:00 – 15:30 | MYP – An Overview of the Unit Planners
    Facilitated by Ms. Aysel Alasgarova (in English)
  • 15:30 – 17:00 | PYP/MYP – Developing a Student-Centered Class
    Facilitated by Ms. Maria Berardi (in English)

The workshop was designed to enhance teaching practices, help participants gain a deeper understanding of the IB curriculum, and encourage professional learning and exchange.
