CCAAIBWS Brings Together Educators to Discuss Effective Research Methods

Caucasus and Central Asia Association of IB World Schools Hosts Successful Roundtable Discussion on Extended Essays

The Caucasus and Central Asia Association of IB World Schools (CCAAIBWS) recently hosted a roundtable discussion on Extended Essays (EE) that was met with great success. The session brought together associate EE coordinators and supervisors from member schools to discuss and collaborate on effective strategies for formulating research questions and methods, selecting authoritative sources, using sub-questions, and properly evaluating research.

The discussion was facilitated by Martin Keon, Head of the IB Programmes at British Georgian Academy and experienced EE examiner and coordinator. Throughout the session, participants exchanged ideas and shared best practices, unlocking the potential of their students’ Extended Essays.

The roundtable also provided a valuable opportunity for teacher development and empowering students to excel in their academic pursuits. Attendees were able to network and share knowledge, and the session ultimately helped to support the professional growth of educators and improve student outcomes.

Overall, the roundtable was a great success, with participants leaving with new strategies and ideas for helping their students succeed. CCAAIBWS is committed to continuing to provide opportunities for professional development and supporting educators in their pursuit of excellence.
